How is sexuality represented in this clip?

Sexuality is represented in this clip in many different ways. The first way it is shown is by the use of the Camera. The first shot we see is the two women getting dressed with one woman placed behind the other. The way the camera shows this is by being placed in front of the front woman. This immediately shows that the two woman have a bond. The movement of the camera when the two women are in the bed is very slow. This works well with their slow hand movements as it portrays the sexual tension going on between the two ladies. The shot after this we see the woman painting the other woman. The camera then zooms on the lady who is getting painted, in particular her breasts, This shows where the other lady is looking which portrays that the woman cant think of anything else other than her. 

The next way sexuality is represented is by Mise en Scene. At the start of the clip we see that the women getting dressed. The woman placed behind the other woman is doing her corset and dress up. Showing the closeness between the two ladies and the level of openness they have between them. Potentially striking the audience with the possibility that they could both be lovers. The scene next shows the two women in bed together where the lighting is very dim. This helps shows us the passionate vibe that is between these two. The dim light also contrasts well with the slow hand movements that one of the woman inflicts on the other as both are toned down and are very subtle showing that its not all sexual, there is romance between the two women. Throughout the clip we see one lady is obsessed with the other, We see this as she maintains eye contact with her at every chance she gets to see her. This shows us that she is fantasying over her which portrays her love for her, In the background of one of the rooms the two women are in there is a fire lit, This shows us comfort and can also symbolize the 'spark' they have for each other,

Another way to show sexuality is through the editing of the clip, Some of transitions used to cut from scene to scene use dissolves. In one cut the transition dissolves from the woman touching the other woman passionately to her face in the next scene. This shows sexuality as its showing that, that is what the woman is thinking about even when shes painting - portraying the desire for the other lady. Another transition used is the constant cross cutting between the two women and the man, who is one of the ladies partner. The cut mainly focuses on the woman looking at the other women whilst she sleeps and doesn't focus on her looking at her partner. This shows that she has no feelings towards the man but loves the women instead.

The final thing that shows sexuality is the sound used in the clip. At the start of the clip we hear non diegetic sound as the women's maid is dressing she says what she is thinking 'She looks so beautiful'. This could show that she is frightened to come out with her passion for the women or that she isn't confident enough to do so. When the two ladies are with each other the music turns to very slow and passionate. Relating to the maids feelings towards the other lady. As the music is quite quiet and discrete this again relates to the maid as she hides her feelings from the lady and keeps it very subtle.
